Have I just discovered that i’m a shameless narcissist? I don’t think so. Do I have stacks of social media profiles for myself and my pursuits? Yes, almost too many to mention or remember. Would it therefore be easier for anyone looking to find out more about me and what I can do by showcasing it here and giving folks a quick introduction with no need for log-ins, profiles etc.
On each of the different profiles I have it is with a certain mission in mind whereas on a site like this there is no agenda, it’s just me saying things that I think may be relevant or maybe even helpful to folk. Knowing more about the human behind various endeavours can be really helpful.
The other reason for doing this is to evidence credibility and track record. My latest project outside of my main employed work is in research and publishing a report/articles containing proposals and discussion points about British Speedway’s future, a sport I am passionate about. I will need to approach various people around the sport and so having somewhere they can look to see what I do is probably more impactful than saying that I wanted to be a sports journalist as a kid and am not playing at doing it myself!
